Make only minimum API requests you need, cache where appropriate, identify yourself with a descriptive User-Agent. Dont hammer the API.

All API endpoints require a user-level API key. Please note that this API key should not be shared; it can be used to make edits to contributions under your account, as well as modify your profile. The API key does not have the ability to modify account settings like email or password.

You can obtain a free API Key with the following steps:

Go to https://homemediadb.com and login to your account or create a new one for free.
Click your Profile Image on the top-right.
Select the "Manage account" option.
Look for the "API keys" tab on the left of the window.
Click "Add a new key" and give it any name. For example, the name of the client or app it will be used with. If you are using it on another website, the domain is recommended. The expiration date is optional and up to your discretion.
